Is it possible to downgrade the firmware on the VX9800 phone from V2 or higher down to V1?

What I'm ultimately trying to do is eliminate the problem of losing my personal mp3-based ringers that I have loaded onto my mini SD whenever my phone reboots.

yes I would too. I have a friend with V05 and she looses her ringers every time her phone reboots. im looking to downgrade her firmware.

You can't downgrade because the only firmware that ever leaked was V05.

If you wan't ringers on your miniSD card, follow the howtos on bitpim.org for the 9800.
