Connecting KG800 to Windows XP

Cannot get the supplied software to connect. Activated the modem and windows sees the phone, but when I press the 'connect' option it just times out.
Any ideas please?

how did you get it to work? i get the same thing 'TIMED OUT'

made sure the 'modem' was turned on then tried the different options on the connection ports on the drop down menu.
