Trouble connecting to Internet after updating Palm OS

I have an unlocked GSM Palm Treo 650. I have been using it uneventfully since March and have been very happy with its performance. About 10 days ago, I updated my system software and can no longer go online with my Palm. My carrier is T-Mobile and I have followed their directions

but have not had success. I get the message that my phone is unable to connect, to check my preferences, and the code 0X7143 .

Does anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate it if you could help. Thanks in advance.

I've gotten my interent working by changing the port #. I'm a happy camper again.
