Hi,

I got some questions on the GD88 that I hope anyone can help to answer:

1. VOICEMAIL
With most phones, the keypad "1" is used for VOICEMAIL. But in GD88, it is not. I hate typing my carrier voicemail number all the time. Any way to have this speed up like other phone?

2. MULTIPLE TRANSFER
I cannot do MULTIPLE files (sounds, pictures) transfer from OR to my PC, which is crap. I took about 30-40 pictures a day and transferring to my PC via IR ONE-BY-ONE is crap. In Nokia 7650, I can do "select all" and select "Send -> Infrared" to send multiple files. Any way to do this?

3. MIDI Limitation
I know that the GD88 file SIZE limitation is 50Kb, as stated in manual. But when I try to play certain MIDI file, the phone says "Failed". THe size is only 30 Kb. Why is that? THe MIDI file plays ok on Nokia 7650.

It seems that your mind is made up. Use the Nokia.

I use a 37k midi ringtone with no problems every day but I must say that there are oddities about what midis it will and will not play. I have tested a 45k midi that has worked. I think it depends on the midi file but why, I do not know.

Program the voicemail number into the phonebook and put it either voicedial and/or speed dial. You can even make it #1 if you would like. I do not find this odd or difficult. In fact, I prefer not to have it in the #1 speeddial. In fact, I like having it in the ms pb so I can access my home, work and mobile voicemail from one entry!!

With a datacable it is possible using either the nicobox software or other 3rd party software. I agree that this is weird and should be fixed at a minimum in the next model.

Even with this, I feel the 87 is a better phone in size and capabilities. I have been using Pana phones for 3 years now and typically get more compliments on it than I did my Nokia phones that I have had in the past.

Lost rebel,

I gave up on my 7650 because it's too big. I made comparison with the Nokia because certain function it has is quite standard with other phone. For example, VOICEMAIL can be pressed by just pressing "1".

In regards to Hot Key dial, the problem is that it's not easy when I need to CHANGE the numbers I want 2 be associated with certain key. I have 150 contacts, and if I want to change the CURRENT one in keypad "2", I must copy the current one to another location, edit the new one to overwrite location no. 2. This is like shuffling card, man...
