Ok, so I was offered a position working as an ANS (Advanced Network Systems) rep. We are in week 3 of our 4 week training before "nesting." This is all well and good for me, but I have worries. A lot of the people in my class just don't seem to be getting it. We are supposed to be the people you call when you just can't figure it out. Of all the people in my class, I am the farthest ahead. We still have people in the class that fail to grasp "Data Networking Fundamentals". Today, I got SO far ahead the trainer stuck me on "phone pal'ing" for a couple of hours while everyone struggled with "Learning Edge" modules. Now I think the reason I am so far ahead of EVERYONE is because I actually do the work assigned, while I see the woman next to me browsing Craigslist for free puppies and jobs in Alaska. This has created somewhat of a divide between the rest of the class and myself. I really got this today when I got back from "phone pal'ing" late and half the class saw me going to a "second lunch" with my phone pal. (He needed lunch and I still had more Qs.) Maybe I am just being an *** about this but I think if we could root out the stragglers and move the advanced users (myself and 1 or 2 other people) on to REAL training it would help everyone.

dude, you have no idea. i will hazard a guess about 80% of your class will not make it past 6 months. Mine didnt. I was in a class of 24. we are now down to 5. 3 in EDHD and 2 in ANS. Good luck to you. go Rep 1's!!!!! btw im in seattle as well

I started two years ago as well, and I'm the final survivor of my training class.

Techincally my first post because god knows what I did with the email/password associated with my actual account on here. I wouldn't doubt your class will start dropping right when you get into Phase 2 with the roamers. Those who can't handle the 'pressure' will be gone after the first day.

Your advanced training will come in the form of being thrown to the dogs and just working through it. It will be make it or break it time and your classmates will either get it, or flounder around for a few months and quit.

Somehow I doubt a lot of those people even use the www extensively, let alone have an interest in HoFo.

considering that i'm not talking about the people he's whining about in his class.

I'm talking about managers, co-workers who surf hofo, the department he's in has a lot of avid hofo users.

what's funny is that his trainer, and his previous and current manager have all seen his post
