So I go to a treo trainging and recvd a brand new treo for free. Now questions?

Treo is in town for a few days and I was selected to go to a training. I'm and SSR for Cingular so I was fortunate. They handed out treo 650 today and allowed us to keep em, brand new out the box. Now I need to know how I can save only my contacts and sounds/ringtones from my previous treo 650without transfering anything else over. Everytime I sync with my current user name it transfers everything over. Can I specify what I want to transfer over to my new treo rather than everything that was on the prev fone?TIA

Oh,and the trainer had his 10th Anniversary, Black Tie Edition treo there. I know its old news but was nice to see in person.

You could beam your contacts over, but I'm not sure about ringtones. Best to try on a treo-specific site ie mytreo.net or treocentral.

wait a second- Treo is in town & you went for training? What on earth are you talking about?

you can go into your palm desktop software folder and look for your "username" and there will be a folder under it that is called backup. Backup the directory, then go to town deleting what you don't want it to restore.

A Palm representenative(s) was in town and they probably had a Treo training seminar for Cingular employees.

So anyway. I DL a trial of ringo pro. you can import tones from ringo pro and save them to your sound file of the treo. I cleared out the factory tones on the treo, and saved the mp3 tones (20 second samples) i had on my razr. now when the trial for ringo is over. I have tones in the treo that I wont lose. So basicly when I go to my sound profile on the treo i have all mp3 tones and not them crazy factory ones. Imainly wanted to do this for the "u got mail", and "you got VM" SMS alerts.

Does anyone have the site for tones that you get on the razr. Some posted a link to a bunch of clips, 20 seconds or so that we can DL thru media net

I'm not sure about rigntones, but a CelleBrite machine move a large amount of contacts on a Treo in a minute or two.

Here's an idea- line up up your Treos' IR ports & beam the "all" category to the new one. Bam- contacts.

I've read that Ringo causes the palm to crash a lot. a better way is to convert the mp3s to wav then save the first 20 seconds and transfer it to your phone that way and not use any 3rd party software
