CU500 EDGE speed sucks?

Well, I'm tethered with a CU500 to my laptop, using the official 'Premium Music Pack' cable sold by Cingular in their store. I've verified that it works for transferring files back and forth to and from the microSD card.

So, I was in an area that was showing the full 5 bars of EDGE. I went to DSLReports.com and did their speed tests, and I was consistently getting 26-40kbps, or an astonishing 5.6-7.8kbps! Wowee! So where is this fabled 190kbps that everyone seems to be taking about with such wonder, anyways?

In my apartment, I only get about 0-2 bars of 3G, and even with such poor signal, I still was able to manage 212-296kbps of 3G service. So what's the deal with EDGE on my phone?

simple, the time slots are used by voice first, then data. The site serving you is most likely busy honoring voice calls

Quite the opposite here. I'm getting an average of 190 Kbps on EDGE

. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on an EDGE phone.

The Cu500 has class 10 edge, so your connection sucks, has nothing to do with the phone.
