For months my V3 silver powers off on it's own. I'm on Blue. I called Moto and FedEx is coming with a box and return label. The V3 also does a gray screen when I flip the phone to read incoming txt. Also it will do Black. I then push the red power on button to resart the phone. Don't know if anyone else has had this problem. Moto said they will fix it. IF they cannot fix it. They will send me a new phone. I'll keep you posted as to what Moto does. So my ole V505 is charging. Better than no phone for about 2 weeks.

Ive gone through 3-4 v3's in the past month. Not that great of a phone.

What do you expect from Motorola? They are the Dell of cellphones. Sell in mass quanities, quality not good.

Update. FedEx just left with my V3. Moto will have it to morrow. But the FedEx guy did not have a box small enough for the V3. So he put it in an cardboard envolope. I told him it better not get damaged ih shipping.

Moto was one of the first to build cell phones. One would think they can make a phone that works.

Every company has flakes in their production lines. It isn't just Moto; I've seen some hell Nokias as well.

But Motorola's warranty services are GREAT. CyberMoto you should have no problem with them - I KILLED my Black RAZR and they couldn't fix it at all. So they sent me a brand new Black RAZR. Cost me shipping. Love Moto for that.

cingular#1, stop dropping your phone! I can only make an @$$ out of you and me and say thats your problem dude, invest in a belt clip and use it. Works for me. When I had the crappy nextel's I would always drop them so I did that and dont have a problem with my RAZR. Just tryin to help.

Moto paided for the shipping. Nice of them. I'm using my V505 for now. Moto should have the phone. I'll call them next week to see whats up.

LOL,

But really, I never did drop them! the screen just kept going blank, dust kept getting into the screen, and it kept dropping calls.

V3 update. Got my V3 back from Moto last Friday. They did a software update. On Sunday V3 powered off twice. I called Moto Monday. FedEX sent it back. I'll call them this Friday 1 Sept to see if they {Moto} have V3.

Called Moto this past Monday. They said they could not fix my phone. They said they where sending me a refurb V3. I asked the guy if the V3 was unlocked sense I'm on Blue. He did whatever to start the unlock code. I got the V3 this past Tuesday. I called Moto later at night. They gave me the unlock code for the V3. The one they send was a cingy V3.

I've owned four Razr's and have had no problems with any of them. As a matter of fact, I have had great success with any and all Motorola phones I've owned, and I have had plenty from my old StarTac to my present Razr. Every manufacturer has a "lemon" once in a while...looks like you got one by the luck of the draw. Nokia has them (although the rabid Nokia fans won't admit to it), SE has 'em (same deal), and Motorola does too. Your chances of getting a "good one" this time around from Moto are great. You just got a phone with some glitches, that's all. Although my experience with Moto has been outstanding, the next one I get might suck. Who knows?

I've been in the car business for 28-years, and have seen brand new cars come off the transport and have to be towed to the service department because the transmission locked up, or it would not run...go figure. Thing is, if it can happen to a car...it can probably happen to a phone to. Just because it happens to one car in ten-thousand, it doesn't mean everything the manufacturer builds is trash. Just because there are a few "buggy" phones out there doesn't mean everything the manufacturer builds is bad either.
