How often do you charge your E816?

So I liked the rated 5 day standby on the E816 but mine died in just under 24 hours with no phone calls made (I played some MP3s and took some pictures, but not much). I mentioned it to an ampd tech support guy (who is replacing the handset for other reasons) and he said the 5 day standby is only if the phone is off...

Am I wrong or does standby really mean off? I mean my old Sony T610 goes 4 days on and it's over a year old...

Just wondering...

He might mean "phone off" as in airplane mode. Where the phones running but not connected to a network, possably?

His explanation was actually that (paraphrased): The battery will die pretty fast because it takes a lot of energy to run all those applications.

I have only what came on my phone, and running in airplane mode wouldn't change that...

From what I understood, standby time meant time that a phone is on but not in use (in this case closed and not playing any media).

Under Settings > Initial Setup there is a Battery Save option

turn it to On and I bet it last a lot longer

It helps. What does this option do?

is the 816 really that different from the 815? i can get 3-4 days on a charge. maybe the amp'd apps drain the battery quicker than on vzw.

My battery last's about the same and that's just with normal use. If I browse amp'd live it will drain in about an hour and a half. My wife got the kyocera angel and she has the same problem with the short battery life perhaps a larger capacity battery is in order? BTW I have been using the battery save function since I purchased the phone.
