I just switched over to the VX8300 from the VX8100. I am finding it very hard to believe that we are unable to view missed calls an text messages from the front LCD. Does anyone know of any way to enable this feature. Also when you have a missed call it only says missed call, it doenst say how many missed calls.

Can anyone help?

the front screen is NOT LCD, it's 'organic LED', it's not as bright, and has a slower response time, but it uses less power and LG made it smaller than the 8100 front screen

NO offense but you didn't do your homework, many people who bought the 8300 have made the same complaint you did, it been documented many time on hofo

when i got our 8100's in june i new I didn't want the 8300, it was between the 8100 and the 9800, but the wife didn't like the 9800, I sure do, and she didn't want to spend the extra money and neither did I

The reason why is because the LCD on the 8100 is bigger 128x128 and the 8300 is only 96x96. It would be too small to read the text on the external display of the 8300.

So when you get down to the point you are actually complaining about having to open your flip phone. Why the h!@# did you get a flip phone if the simple act of opening it to use it is too much for you??!

On the 8300 if you get a missed call you get a missed call icon on the front screen. If you want to find out who they are from you flip open the screen and scroll thru the missed calls list. If you want to find out how many missed calls there were then use some 2nd grade math skills and count how many are on the list. Is this really that much trouble??

Think about...whether it was one missed call or a dozen you're probable still going to open the phone and look them up so why is it so important that number of missed called be displayed on the front??
