910SH approved by Bluetooth SIG

The latest Sharp phone for Softbank's October announcement has made the Bluetooth SIG's clearance website. However this one is W-CDMA only, so there's a good chance that this phone is the 905SH's HSDPA version. Shame really, I wish they'd stop doing all these 3G-only phones...

Supported profiles are the same as the 904/905, but upgraded to Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR.

i share a similar dream... well actually as long as they keep releasing dual mode GSM/3G I'm happy.

And, psst, Softbank, tell your manufacturers to make the unlocking as easy as possible for is

Totally agreed. Dual GSM/3G and easy unlock or.. don't! Or better yet, you can make a profit off non-japanese by locking them, then selling your own unlock to certain high-profile unlockers.

hopefully soon it will be dual 3G (2100mhz and 1900mhz [whichever north america will use 1900 or 850])... but i guess GSM will be needed for a long time anyways!

I feel pity that 910 still doesn't support A2DP.
AL, how do you known that 910's bluetooth supports EDR.

I don't think dual 3G with 2100MHz and 1900MHz will be aorund for ages.... the US has dual mode 1900MHz and 850MHz UTMS phones doesn't it? I mean, I think the Nokia N80 and N73 were an unsuspected surprise in terms of bands..... 5 bands, *****es (as well as wifi!) - but let's be honest, none of us are really interested in Nokia's. It's the Sharp machines that make us tick. A higher price for a classier handset is worth it imo. Even if it makes you bleed to death lol.

However, I do think we'll be seeing dual 3G in the two bands you mentioned in a years time, possibly less, but I don't see Sharp as the first hopping onto that bandwagon. If Sharp wanted to totally pwn the Jap phone market I'm sure they would have added WiFi or a teleporting technology or a technology that enables users to zap each other like tazers.

Nokia, Samsung or Motorola will probably be the first on that bandwagon, HTC and Sony Ericsson less likely contenders buit still I'd say they'd pick up on the bands faster than Sharp could bat an eyelid. I'll still love Sharps, as long as I have adequate 3G coverage where I live, and am able to use that, Long live Sharp/Japanese phones. lol.

The only Sharp I have right now is a crappy GX30 though. lols. Grr I need a 904SH.

Download any of the two PDFs at the site where the 910SH is mentioned and you'll see that it's certified for EDR support.
