Best price on an upgrade with the LG CU500?

Well, I've had it with my Treo, my backup v600 just broke, and my wife's line has an upgrade laying around. So I think I want to grab a CU500. But what's the best way to do it?

The Cingular stores around here say $149 for a 2yr, but it's really $199 with a $50 mail-in rebate.

The web site (when I'm at home) says $79, but that's with a $50 MIR, so it's really $129 out the door.

Apparently I get Cingular Premier, because when I go to cingular.com at work, I get "business" pricing, which for some reason on this phone is $129 with no rebate.

I'd really like to get this phone today if possible. I've heard stories of people getting this phone for much less than $200 in-store. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I got my cu500 last week at my local Cingular store for $129 with a $50 mail in rebate.

You paid $129 for it in-store? So the rebate brings it down to $79?

I got mine for $141.xx, out the door and with no contract extension the day it came out. Of course, with my business discount, it was better and I didn't have to start another contract. I'm free to come and go as I please.

Yup, at the store. Thats right 79 bucks. It was the same price as the RAZR but i liked the cu500 so...

its only 79 if u have the plan cause theres a** on the rebate form.

I"m upgrading now too and from what I understand is, it will be more expenisve to buy it in a store than online. Apparently they have "online discounts" that the stores will not do.

Yeah, I tried 2 different Cingular stores. The best they can do is $149 after rebate, or $200 out the door. I don't know why online is a full $70 cheaper. I know those stores are expensive to staff, but geez...

I've usually had good luck with the "corporate" retail stores matching their online prices.

cu500 has 3g technology and the razr does not. is the cu500 and smaller as the razr.

How do you find these "corporate" stores?

Can someone correct me if im wrong but i purchase this phone for 129.99 i currently do not have the any media plann because i am going to my summerhouse which isn't 3g area so i paid 129.99 so i cant get any rebates since i dont have any plans.. i bought my phone like 1 1/2 weeks ago. If you click on rebate they have three *** next to it and says require media max bundle.

Why is is that this phone is not available in my area on the website? I haven't been in to a store yet to check.

In store for $169.99 with the $50 rebate = $119.00 with no contract renewal or extension.

Where might that store be doubledown?

Go to Cingulars site, click the "Find A Store link", and search by your zip code.

The results will show the corp stores as "Cingular Wireless" and non-corp as "Authorized Retailer".

You do not have 3G service in your area yet. See other posts re: this.

Correct, you need to subscribe to a MediaMax bundle in order to get the $50 rebate, which brings the phone down to $79.

thanks, m0m0. That's what I had figured, but I didn't know if there were some kind of super-secret stores where all the phones were half price and only important businessmen were allowed past the bouncer.

I ended up ordering it online about noon yesterday, and it still hasn't shipped. I was REALLY hoping to somehow get it before the weekend, but that's obviously not going to happen...
