Visiting Germany in December Need Data service

I'm travelling to Germany for 3 weeks in December January and would like to have voice and data access while in Germany. I am with T-Mobile USA and besides a voice plan have the T-zones/Tmobile Web $5.99 plan. The roaming costs look to be pretty steep should I use my native plan in Germany. My phone is a unlocked quad band (Moto V600). What is the cheapest way to get access in Germany. I've seen several sellers offering Tmobile Germany SIM card. The voice costs are pretty straightforward but I'm wondering if there is a program akin to the US GPRS T-zones program that can be added on to the pre-pay program that I will have if I buy a Tmobile Germany SIM Card. What sort of cost can I expect to incur. Also does anyone have the settings for a proxy server that would allow me to tether my PC to the phone as I do here in the US w/T-zones.

I am just returned from Germany and have 2 T-MO D1 cards. XtaWAP is according to the documentation I have billed at 19 e-cents per minute. AFAIK, they have no equivalent of a prepaid T-Zones for 5.99 / month. A German T-Zones is available at the WAP rate, however. I did not try it, though.

Actually, I am trying to sell these cards. Want to by my D-1 cards? PM me for details.

Another firm, SIMYO, also offers 2 GPRS data rates -- can't tell you the difference however.

GPRS service internet at the rate of .9 e-cents per KB
GPRS service WAP at 2 e-cents per KB.

Some people swear by the WIND (Italian) data (megadata) card.

Look at www.prepaidgsm.net -- you will find a wealth of info there.

I have found that when I travel internationally, I need/use data ( Email ) more than voice. Therefore I switched to a T-Mo BlackBerry ( 7105T ) and the 20 dollor add onto my blackberry plan for unlimited email and browsing anwhere in the world. So far, has been working out great with no additional charges on the data side. If you go this route, remove your voicemail option to eliminate the double billing for unanswered calls going to Vmail while roaming.
