E816 Question: how turn on the Speakerphone before an active call? Anything short of flashing E815 software would be great. Thanks.

This phone can't do that normally? Thats messed up, on my v710, wich is very similar, just put it in speaker phone mode and it stays there until you take it out (button on the side). Odd they screwed taht part up on this model.

E816 has this key assigned to PTT instead of speakerphone. I got answer in another thread how to disable PTT (which is very good anyway) but this is only half way to what I want – now I would like to assign it back to the speakerphone. I am not aware about any solution without going to E815 software. I like E816 software otherwise and don’t want to change it.

ive been troubled by this also i found you could permanetly turn it on through the > menu 073887* code 000000 >enable test mode> exit> restart phone > menu left soft key> next>next>next>down to audioopt: >change when speakerphone shows restart phone take it out of test mode spkr always on!!

It worked Ok except this setting changed to speakerphone didn’t survive restart – it got back to auto. If speakerphone is always enabled can you turn it off while on an active call?
