I'm very new to this and would appreciate any advice. Thank You.

I just got my data cable from eBay. It didn't come with any software and I noticed BitPim and Mobiledit won't support it. What program can I get to connect my phone to the computer?

When I plug my phone in, the phone charges but it isn't detected by any programs.

Thanks

Since getting help from here is so scarce I will offer some insight. It may not be right but at least you will know there is life on this planet. You probably bought a straight cable.from what i have learned you probably should buy the one with the seperator in the middle.Seems most suggest the usb to serial cable.Good luck

I was able to connect through BitPim. When trying to connect one time, I don't know if I pressed something or not, I was able to connect to the phone's filesystem. I assumed it was working so I only uploaded one ringtone and tried it out. The ringtone was had static because of me though. I was happy to see the file was displayed correctly and it was in the downloaded ringtones section so I did the editing part right.

After that one time only I haven't been able to connect since. It just connects and displays the whole tree until:

Other CDMA Phone: Listing subdirs in dir: 'OWS/MMC'
COM4: Read Exception: (995, 'GetOverlappedResult', 'The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.')
Failed to list directories in OWS/MMC
