E61, T-Mobile US, Edge?

I searched the site, hope I did not miss an obvious thread.

I have an E61 and love it. Took a while to configure but have push mail, browsing, etc. configured and working well. However, the one thing that I have not been successful with is connecting via EDGE. I am a t-mobile US customer and have the "internet2.voicestream.com" AP configured but it no worky ... I verified with a BB 8700 that Edge is available where I am attempting this.

Has anyone else had a similar situation and resolve it? Similar with no resolution?

Thanks,
-p

Mine got EDGE speed no problem. I was using wap.voicestream.com since I have the $4.99 t-zones plan.

I'm using a 6682 and I'm not sure if I'm getting access at EDGE speeds, how can I tell if I am or not?

thru field test maybe?

I like:

There are a number of other sites that will do the same thing.

82kbit/sec ? That seems about right

I believe anything over 50k qualifies for edge. Which test are you using? The 300k test normally gives you the best/truest result when using edge.

Then you have to use the highest kb test otherwise it will not work.

My EDGE access point is called t-mobileInternet, (Tmobile setting that I got via txt msg from Nokia site to configure phone settings). Basically, though, it seems that all of the settings in my phone that use Tmobile data seem to connect at EDGE speeds. Even the one called "t-zones GPRS" which sort of mystifies me. I think they're all the same, the connection defaults to EDGE unless that network isn't available, then it would default to GPRS? I have the 19.00 data plan.

I used the 200kb test I believe, the smaller ones seemed to give inaccurate results.

If you are on the $19 BB plan then you have to use the wap.voicestream.com apn. The internet2 and internet3.voicestream.com will not work with the BB plan.
