i am a service manager at a Telus dealler in alberta.
the past 8 months i have noticed the following.
i get

60+ V710 A month with the following problems"
extream battery drain, battery heats up, charging problems phone showing "incompatibl charger" "unable to charge

i get 30+ v265 & v262's

and about 15 + a840 world phones
with all teh above problems. I see people standing in line at the service counter wiht a 710 and say "Charging problem?" they look at me like i read their minds.

does anyone know if ther was a service issue with Motorola. they told me nothing when i called our DDC.

They have the old type of charger and many have had problems with it .

i have been re soldering the I/o connectors, that is what Celulab said to do instead of sending them in.
but i have no time for that so i only do a few on teh spot so customers dont have to wait for there phone

you just have to be real careful putting them on the charger and taking them off people can easily bend or break the connectors to those phones.

Tell them to not use the phone while charging with a coil corded charger. This puts strain on the charge jack and causes the broken connections you are experiencing. This pretty much true for all phones. Leave them lay when charging. That coil cord causes a lot of problems.

The manufacturer recommends not talking on the phone while they are plugged up to the charger. It is a known issue with the P2K ports, V710, V2XX, etc.
