Ive been thinking of getting one soon so i just have a few questions....

Does the 8125 come with AIM built in? if so, can i set it up to use GPRS with unlimited web as the access point or will it use texts?

Having wi-fi, i can basically log onto any non secure network and browse the web? if so, can i use AIM over this instead of the texts?

A simple search would have awnsered all these questions.

No AIM is not built in.
AIM will either use data over GPRS or data over wifi. Either way it is not charged as text messages
Yes you can log onto any unsecured wifi, and if you can get on the net you can send msgs via AIM.

check T-Mobile MDA forum to find
reliable AIM for MDA
then you should find a hacked AIM

In my experience, the hacked AIM porgram works the best by far.

I like my phone.

Thought I'd point out you can get on a secure network if you know the key. It's kind of a pain though depending how long your key is. Mines pretty long for my home network. But once you get it setup it works fine every time.

i had trouble connecting to the wireless at school...i turned wi-fi on and nada happened...is there something i should be doing?

i dunno man, it depends on your school.

Like my school wants you to register the MAC address of the device your using to connect, then it works no problem. So i had to go to their site and put in the mac address of the 8125s network card. after that it works no problem.
