i want to appologize in advance if i missed a thread in which this was already answered. i've been searching this forum and the web for several hours now, but haven't been able to find an understandable answer.

to start, i'm very much a noob when it comes to phones and pda's. this MDA is my first PDA, and i've only ever used my cellphones to make calls, nothing fancy.

i bought an unlocked MDA, and today i got an PDA data plan from Cingular. i asked the guy at the store how i would go about setting up my cingular email and such and he said it would prompt me for all that when i boot up my phone with the SIM in it. this didn't happen, i'm guessing its because its not a cingular phone, but an unlocked tmobile phone...but, what do i know?

i struggled for a while to figure out how to get my phone to use Cingular's GPRS to connect to the web, and finally got it working.

the next thing i would like to do, if possible, is to get rid of all this tmobile crap all over the place. for example, when i boot up, it has a tmobile wallpaper, and when i go to "set up my email" it also displays the tmobile logo. i don't want to get rid of this just for the look, but i imagine there is a bunch of tmobile related crap that is being loaded when i boot up my MDA.

also, i'd like to be able to do all the things that i would have been prompted to do if i had an actual Cingular phone (like set up my Cingular email address).

i guess what i'm really asking is...how do i Cingular-ize my non-Cingular phone?

thanks in advance

refer my post
T-Mobile MDA unbranding procedures
in T-Mobile MDA forum
generally you need to clear the phone first (hard reset)
when you see today screen, press reset or full off ASAP to avoid full branding
to make it work properly, you need to partially put the branding

nah, just CID unlock and flash with the Cingular rom and you 'll be set.
