Will there be another Cingular 2125 rom?

I've been so hesitant to upgrade my phone based off the negative feedback regarding the "sticky key" issue on the current 2125 rom.

Just wondering if anyone knew whether or not there is plans for a new rom? If yes, when?

I seriously doubt it -- Cingular is currently busy clearing out their stock of 2125's to make room for the 3125 which is coming out anyday now (literally)...don't look for any further rom updates for the 2125.

FWIW, AKU2.3 has been released to the device makers. If AKU2.0 is any indication, I wouldn't look for it before the end of the year. It is mostly a collection of bug fixes but it also adds a new File Explorer and revises the Menu screen. So Cingular may not release this but you should be able to grab an I-Mate or Qtec rom and try it on your phone.

Interesting... If you could just adjust the volume on an incoming call when the keypad is locked I would be a happy camper. I'm not sure what the deal is...this has been the case since I flashed it with the SP5 rom. Curious enough is the fact my 8310 suffered the same issue.

I'm suprised that aren't many others that have reported this.

I still expect another ROM for the 2125. I don't expect it though until after Cingular has released the 3125 and 8525 devices and has worked out any significant issues that may arise when these two new models are out.

I think by now, the Cingular support email should be flooded with emails about the sticky keys of the 2125 with the AKU2 ROM and the decrease in volume over BT with both the 2125 and 8125 so something needs to be done about it.

In fact, if you haven't done so, write an email to Cingular ( data_support@cingular.com ) reporting the sticky keys issue and asking for a fix. If we all do this, we'll increase the chances of getting this thing solved.

Yes, I agree. I am sending them an email right now. At first I didn't think the ROM was that bad, until I tried my bluetooth. It ruined my bluetooth volume. I can barely hear out of the damn thing. And now the sticky keys are really getting to me. Dammit the more I write about it the madder I get. I thought I could go back to previous ROMs like I did with the MPx220. But the 2125 doesn't let you do that. I don't know if it's because WM5 or the phone. Doesn't really matter, the point is that you can't. They should at least let you go back to previous ROM's. This sucks.

In the meantime, is there a way to revert to the old ROM?

Since I upgraded ROMs, my ability to connect to my PC(s) with activesync is hit and miss. I don't know if it has to do with the comm manager changes, since number 4 (data connection) always seems to default to on when connecting a cable, or if it is some other problem. however, it exists on multiple PC's and they have no firewalls other than XP's.

I've never had any issues with ActiveSync on my 2125 or 8125, on the old and new ROMs.

Upgrade to ActiveSync 4.2, that may help.

I found that the sticky key was fixed by setting the option for Key sounds to off under the Sounds setting.

You don't need to download the new 8310 ROM, just do the registry edits and use the SPV program. After you do those 2 things load up the ROM that you want. The first time I tried it, it got to 8% and crashed, it took me through some recovery steps automatically and it restarted the upgrade again. The 2nd time it worked perfectly. The texting is back to normal and the Bluetooth volume sounds great. I also talked to HTC and they said they were aware of the issue but have no ETA on a new ROM to fix the issue.

That's weird. Mine's already off so I wonder if I would have turned it on if it would have fixed it. I already loaded the previous ROM anyway.
