i was thinking about getting the cingular 2125 phone from cingular since they have it on sale for 50 bucks after the rebates if i get a data plan, but my question is...

is there any way to get the unlimited data plan and get the txt messages charged as data? so if i pay 20 bucks for the unlimited data plan i can have unlimited txt messages too??

also, can i do the same for AIM or something like that/

also, this phone isnt 3g, correct??
how much better is a 3g phone than a regular?

You'll have to confirm that the deal works with a MEdia net plan (i'm assuming that's what you want, sicne I know they're not going to give you a $20 unlimited Data Connect plan unless they're running some insane promo.) It did for me, but it doesnt mean it didn't change. Also there's no way to convert TXT messages into pure data where it will come up as that instead of txt messages, BUT if you get AgileMessenger to send AIM and other plans you will not get charged for messages. I would strongly recommend that program.
