Palm Treo 700 for Cingular in Early November!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I just called my local Palm store and talked to the guy I know after seeing the Palm Treo 700wx picture. Here is the official low-down on the next GSM Treo!

GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE/ UMTS
128MB of memory
1.3MP camera
Palm OS 5.4.9
It is called the 700 (nothing else afterward)
Possible different form factor but not expected!

Preview will go online 3-4 weeks before launch in Early November 2006. A unlocked version will be available at launch from Palm for $699 and a locked version will be available from Cingular for $499.

Oh and by the way, The Palm store will have them in early October before announcement if anyone wants to see them! Also.... The Treo 700wx is the same as the 700w except for Sprint and it is stocked at the Palm store as of today!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW PALM!

So Palm promised 4 Treo's this year:
Treo 700w
Treo 700p
Treo 700wx
Treo 700

While information from store reps can be sketchy at best, you're missing the 750 that supposedly coming out on Vodaphone next month.

Any of you know what OS those will have ? Palm or Windows Mobile ?

Posted by: fishera

The Treo 750 will be the 700px also as far as I know. This Store rep isn't a Store rep, he works at Palm!

The Vodaphone Treo will be running Windows Mobile, according to all the sites. I don't see how the 750 will be the 700px when it's running Windows Mobile.

I don't think we'll see any ALP Treos until next year.

Not true - the wx has more memory than the w - the spec sheet has already been posted on other sites....

I just saw that the Treo wx has more memory. Anyway the Treo 700px is a code name being used by Palm. I can't proove it except to tell you that the guy I know at Palm HQ said that is what they are calling it as of this moment.

Nice! Damit I wish they said my name and a link to my web site (great publicity)! I just got my Palm z22 in house to review, a lil too much plastic for me. Im sticking with my Tungsten and Treo (until T-Mobile gets UMTS then im going with the new one).

Sorry bout that Fishera, next time I'll make sure we spot you specifically (pending editor approval) when you have info.

Posted by: fishera

awesome thanks.... I have a conference with someone at Palm next week regarding the next Vodafone Treo if you want some information? Thanks...

Email/PM me Fishera, we can surely chat

I have a tiny bit of updated information.

Palm is considering several names for the device which some include the following:
Treo 750p (Palm OS 750 model)
Treo 750c (Cingular 750 model, similar the 750v for Vodafone)
Treo 750 (Plain 750 series with GSM and Palm OS like the 650 was)

Also it will be launching in late October or Early November of this year. Sorry no HSPDA but 3GSM and UMTS!

Palm OS 5.4.9 is still planned. Wifi will NOT be working as a driver for the Palm wifi card for two reasons.

The brand new Treo 750(whatever) will be using the brand new 750v design which means it will be using a miniSD. Apparently Palm is transfering memory card solutions worldwide.

Resolution of screen has not changed, but the button layout has. It appears that it is a combination of the 750v and 700p series button configurations at the moment.

No T-Mobile plans for this model. ZERO, so don't even ask anymore. TZones might not work because of the 3GSM and UMTS.

Bluetooth 1.2 will come inside of it along with 128MB of memory (60MB usable, same as the 700p)

SO TO WRAP UP:
Thats what I know at the moment, so I could clear up some rumors and speculation.

Tis good news, I am sure that a few sites might pick this up soon.
