I have had the motorol v710 from verizon for a while now and until yesterday, when I almost lost the phone at hershey park, have not pursued an option to backup the contacts. Can someone point me in the right direction on what everyone considers the best software backup option. I have read about motorola phone tools, but am suspect since they seem to charge for everything. Is this the best option everyone is using or are there better software apps out there? Thanks in advance.

I have mobile phone tools myself and will be uninstalling it
because it crashes, can never connect to my phone unless
it's by cable, and it requires you to sync with an email client
contact list. I myself think DataPilot is probably the best I have
used. Good luck!

MPT allows you to sync your phone with outlook, lotus notes, or MPT's built in phone book manager...
If you have a data cable, and only want to have a phonebook backup.. you can look at BitPim (Freeware from http://bitpim.org ) while it doesn't SYNC with outlook, it will allow you to import/export...
