i've had the sidekick iii for some time now, but just recently i have been having serious problems.

Ill be on the phone, aim or text messaging, and it'll go from the little "G" sign, to just a phone sign, or one dot. From there, I can't make/receive any calls, or use any other wireless feature on my phone. No matter how long I wait,(i've waited overnight) its stuck like that until i reset my phone. After I reset my phone, it works perfectly fine, only until it does it again awhile later.

I called t-mobile, and they said that it could be my sim card... which i don't see how thats possible..

Now they want me to ground ship my phone across the country, only to wait another 10 days to get it back, because they changed their policy on replacing defective phones.

any ideas?

Its a sidekick. Mines does it sometimes to sometimes resetting it is the best bet. Now if you went from G to dots and its stuck there even after resets and other troubleshooting solutions, my friend you've got a prob. lol but what your talking about does'nt sound that serious

Problems I get usually is that it'll say "G" but my sidekick is lying to me and I'm not really connected when I see a text from my friend asking me why I ignored them. I turn airplane mode on and back off and SPAM of IM messages!!!! o.O So yeah usually does the trick. This does happen frequently though and is a known problem. We can all sympathize here. =p

I have problems with this on my sk3 too. We'll have to wait on a radio ota from t-mobile for the problem to be fixed..

whenever there was a problem with a defective phone, they used to send you a new sidekick, and then you'd use the same box to ship the defective phone back. Now theyre saying that their policy changed to where you would have to send your phone in first, before they send one back.

it makes it such a hassle. but since i live in california, i have 30 days to return a phone. So i bought a sidekick iii at invoice price, sent my old phone in... and once i get my phone back, i'm going to return the phone i bought for a full refund..
