Hey all, first post here. Have a problem or two on my I860

First off, all my Java Apps have become disabled, even the "download java apps" is disabled.

second problem, any attempt to access the internet or send text messages gives me a "sending...." message for about a minute and then i get "Error, server not responding"

Been like this for about 2 months. I never did anything to the phone prior to this.

Nextels, customer service has not been helpful. Short of bringing it to a service center, anything i can do myself?

Did a quick search and found some others with the same problem with the Java Apps as I. Unfortunately the fix was a reflash.

I had the same problem..took it into the store to be re-flashed 4 times..after speaking with nextel I went back to the store and I was giving a brand new handset . I was told it is something with the software but they are not sure what. So far so good and I even noticed that the web is faster.

Well after doing some searching, i found that the java apps thing can be cured with a software update from here

http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden...re_utility.html

i just need to get a data cable off my friend tomorrow and try it.

Unsure if that will fix my primary concern which is the net server not responding, but i'll wait til i upload the new software first

Java apps disabled is a known problem with i860s and yeah, only way to fix it is a software update/flash.
