Help: Application error on saving internet images?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

When I'm on the net on my phone and I want to save a picture I can go to Menu>Tools>Save Items, and it appears that it's going to work, it shows the images that are available to save, but when i click save it has a little box that says Item Saved! for a split second, but then a screen comes up that says Application Error Memory Access, and then another that says Attention: Unable to save.. And it just won't save. I have turned off and on my phone a few times, taken out the battery and in and turned on, it has done this since i bought it. Any Ideas why?

I get the exact same error.

It may be a firmware issue.

Apparently, some Motorola Razr users get a similar message:

i had that when i first got my phone but then i went into KPST and i changed a setting in there and it let me save then...but that was months ago when i did that and i dont remember where it is now

Kyocera disabled that option on OEM phones unless its one of their smart phones. He is right, you can enable it in KPST.

I'm a little confused as to what KPST is, I've seen the term around on this forum but I never bothered to ask. Could someone enlighten me?

Posted by: jordon-bedwell

There is KMPT (Kyocera Mobile Phone Tools [used for the general public] this is what you should beable to pick up from your phone vendor) and KPST (Kyocera Phone Support Tools) used to change the software, update brew files, configure the phone, unlock and lock features and soforth (this is what your phone vendor uses to make your phone customized to their service, this is "supposed" to only beable to be used by phone companies but you know how the world is now days)

If you want to upload a photo use KMPT if you want to hack and unlock your image download capabilities use KPST (be aware though if you mess up your phone you cant get it replaced)

You need the USB cable for that though huh. I don't have that, but I guess I could pick one up if needs be. Do you know if you can put games on the phone with that kpst? I would like to get some and not pay for them

Posted by: crackur

^^^nope.........have to buy them

Posted by: jordon-bedwell

Your Kyocera should have came with a USB cord and a 16 - 32 megabyte transflash memory card. They come with that by default usually from what I have seen. If you dont have one purchase it directly from Kyocera or get Mobile phone tools since kyocera doesnt sell KMPT anymore.

No all my phone came with was a charger. I guess cricket is cheap on that. I did buy a memory card, but I don't have a USB card. Kyocera does sell them on the website. But where do you get KPST?

Posted by: jordon-bedwell

You cant get it because its only sold to and made for cell phone vendors. You can find copies of it roaming around I wont lie, there is copies of every piece of software somewhere, where, I dont know, can I tell you, no, why? because its against the law.

Oh okay. It's one of those things. Is it legal to download the KMPT one, or do you have to buy it? And what exactly could you DO with KMPT anyway?
