Sharp SX633 from SmartTone - MP3 ringers?

This phone is starting to pop on eBay now (X1387 has it too) and I'm just wondering if anyone know if the phone supports MP3 ringtone or not? Or is it like past Sharp phones and supports only 3GP and MMF ringtones? Thx.

Yes, I already have it. It does support MP3 ringtones up to 300KB in size, and no more than 192kb/s. Much more handy if you don't want to bother with MMF/AAC/MIDI

I have a SX633 and it does not support mp3 ringtones under 300kb. The ringtone was compressed under 196kps and it still won't take as ringtone.
I also tried using .3GP format and that doesn't work either.

I have tried numerous size and format and was not successful in any attempt
to make the SX633 set songs as ringtone.

Let me know your exact settings if you got it to work. thx!

i wonder if you have to do the IMA file swap/rename to get it to work? have you tried acc or is it aac format? My 770 Eurofirmware has no problem playing mp3 ringtones :P but camera sucks

anyone get the proper video file format for 633 or 770?

i think the japs are getting smarter with ima.m4a format as 904 didnt work. the only way i see you having mp3 ringtones is to convert it to mmf with yamaha's WSD. its really not that bad.
