oh and it does have the mmc.. thus mp3, look at the pictures closely, do you see the mmc slot right in the midle of the phone? the mp3 is nothing special, i had an sl45 years ago, it had mmc and mp3.... (well may be not mmc per se, but a smart card.... i don't remember which format)....

tooth is cool.. but all tooth phones are super slow.. ie T68i.. turning it on and off is a *****....

6310i.. it's okay.. but still slow....

Although the SL55 is missing a few key features you gotta admit is one nice lookin' mobile fone. Great for those fashion minded people that want looks more then features. Siemens furthered that with their Xelibri phone. Personally I like the look of the CeBIT
very funky!

[MDS]: I know what I am talking about. SL55 has a 4096 color display, no MMC/MP3. No need to argue on that.

SL55 is a design mobile, it is not supposed to be stuffed with features. BT has probably been removed because of space. SL55 is only 63ccm (1/3 the size of Nopkia 7650)

You don't even need to know people that work at Siemens to get THIS information, asian_nsx!

Posted by: molna

Not Siemens, but I and 'ocmer' have some good contacts in Club-Siemens

i am still unsure that you know what you are talking about... can you show me some proof that it will at least have 4k lcd, i am not even going to go into this mmc thing, but you can clearly see a slot for it on all the pics of this phone with the battery off... so i am sure it has some sort of flash memory there, but what about the screen, show me anywhere where it says that it will have a 4k screen, i will take my words back and appologize...

People People let's just agree to disagree! Lets just sit and bask in the fine looks of the SL55 and it is a great lookin fone! Aaaaaaaargh Siemens SL55 (homer simpson style drool and all) lol

ok, i read the manual... it does not say anything about it having 4k lcd... but i got to admit there is nothing there about the mmc either... but i mean, what is that slot for right in the middle of the phone? i had the exact same slot on the sl45... it was for an mmc card... like i said, i am pretty convinced it has 256 color screen, but i am not positive. and so far i have not seen any proof that it is not. so if there is something in the manual, can you point it out to me... because i looked thru it and i could not find anything about the screen specs...

Proof for the 4096 color display on SL55:

Posted by: [MDS]

ok ok, i appologize... thought it was 256color. btw, does anyone have a pic of the s55i or m55? just wondering how those will look like....

Ok, ok. Not an 'MMC' slot. But... (& showing my 'ignorance' here)...

Might it be an MMC slot that's used for memory on the phone, but
(a) not externally accessible, &
(b) Internally upgradeable such that one might be able to put more momory in?

Agreed, it might be more software/ firmware for load / eject stuff & the design might make it more difficult to add a slot somewhere for externalizing that memory access..

just a question for those experts on this forum.. (of which Im not)
