is this possible? I can't upgrade 2 sp2. is there any alternative to this problem? would I be better off using missing sync on my MAC ? someone gave me this pc and because of wga I can't upgrade to sp2. any help would be appreciated thanks n advance

The only solution I can see is to either: A. Use your mac like you said or B. Find a older version of active sync. The older version will not reguirer SP2

Or download one of the newer versions with SP2 integrated and install it over your current install. You shouldn't lose much data.

That will do him no good downloading the new one with SP2.

1. Its illegal
2. You need to find a corparte edition of WinXP with SP2 to avoide activation
3. The new validator out checks to see if you have a fake the first time you download something from Microsoft site (updates/software)
4. Runs risk of corrupt OS

I know it is alot of money but trust me just go purchase the legal version of WinXP or find someone who has already downloaded SP2 update to a CD and barrow it from them. Go to newegg.com you can find a copy their for cheap. I seem tones of corrupt OS everyday at my company and it will cost you more time to fix it then it would to spend some money and buy a legal copy.
