SHARP new european line-up?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello all,
Would like to know if there's a fall or winter line up of new mobile phones for Sharp, outside of Japan.

in2sky... I know you're desperate to hear something new (I'm as desperate as you), but believe me if any of the regulars here hear something new, we will post and let you know.

We're not hiding anything here, so don't feel like you have to keep asking for info to make us give it to you.

haha, well, there's always something new I guess. Even not a full line-up of new phones, but for example, I discovered there's different versions of the 770SH floating around in Europe, a black version, a grey (silver) version and different logos on them depending on the carrier.
There is always something to share, even if it's not the main new line-up.
let's talk :-)

Well, there are going to be different colours in different regions, but the phones are not exactly the same per se. For example here in Hong Kong, the SX633 (the Japanese 705SH's Hong Kong relative) has colours in Silver, Black (which, as usual, costs more), and Pink. However, Japan has Black, Silver, and Gold (I think, these are off the top of my head, I am not so sure though). in2sky, the Sharp phones should not have different logos on them because only Vodafone/Softbank(in the case of Japan) should have deals with Sharp. If there are other logos, well, either someone changed it, or they are fake replicas (the latter being the more likely). The hype for Sharp phones is still the 903SH/SX833 since it is the only Sharp phone having a rotable screen and 3.2MP camera support. Once the unlock for the 904SH comes out, the 903 will become obsolete, and possibly more topics about the 703, 705, 770, etc. Check back often, you'll find something new everyday.

There are logos other than Vodafone, Softbank, SmarTone-Vodafone and FarEasTone because there are more Vodafone partner networks that aren't called Vodafone (although we don't hear about them much). SFR in France is a big example, they always get Sharp phones and they're all branded SFR, not Vodafone. There's also Swisscom Mobile in Switzerland which gets them, and they all have Swisscom branding. This is nothing new, it's been happening since the early GX days.

See for yourself:

SFR (currently featuring 550SH and 770SH):

Swisscom (currently featuring 550SH, 770SH and GX25):

Al, do these foreign companies usually use the same interface (themes, etc..) as say UK or OZ, NZ Vodafone ?

Cheers, LL-

Yeah they do. Both SFR and Swisscom versions use the same Euro firmware that all the other Voda countries use. Completely identical except for operator MMS/WAP settings.
