P800's One handed operation?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi All,

I often use my phone with just one hand - to text message, make calls, etc..

My worry if I were to get a P800 would be using both hands. Do I have to use both hands while text messaging? Can I have the flip cover closed and just use the phone like I would normally text message on a T68 or something?

Could I surf wap (smaller screen, of course) while the p800's keys are closed?

Thanks in advance!

You can sms, mms with limited functionality, check email and use some applications such as the communicam, contacts, calander, etc applications with the flip closed using the 5 way jog dial.. In all honesty, you have more applications and uses with a p800 with the flip closed than most cell phones provide period. However, very detailed menus or applications such as the web browser and games can only be used with the flip open. If anyone is interested I can post a photo of the applications available for limited use with the flip closed.

I wish someone would develop an app letting us use the jog dial as a mouse on the screen. That way you could easily access everything with one hand in FO-mode.

BengalBoy,

I am very interested to see picts of the OS working with the flip closed.

Also, how durable are the buttons ? Will elapsed use end up harming the screen underneath?

Thanks
