Phone shop giving me the run around?

So I was trying to unlock my 903SH here in California but I encountered some trouble.

My phones have a Qualcomm 3G CDMA sticker on the side, and the people at the shop said I can't use the phones in North America, because the only ones that can have a "3g GSM" sticker on the side.

Is this true that I now cannot unlock my phones??? Am I being BSed???

They told me I should have just been able to stick any sim card in and it would have worked. I hope they are wrong...

I have 3 903sh and they all have the "3g CDMA" sticker. Does this mean anything????

It's a GSM phone. If it's unlocked it can be used on any gsm network. How else is every1 around the world using 903's?

Yep, I had that sticker on my phone when I got it, and it was possible to unlock. They don't know what they're talkin about.

yea that sticker they said they couldnt unlock mine too then i took the sticker off then it was unlockable

If I was you, I wouldn't go back there.... Find a different place to get your 903sh unlocked.

All Sharp 3G phones have that sticker. It's apparently due to some patent licensing requirement with W-CDMA network technology that forces them to put the sticker on, or some rubbish like that.

In any case either pull the sticker off and go back there, or go somewhere else to get it unlocked. It CAN be unlocked, those clowns just don't know anything about the 903SH (which is all the more reason to go somewhere else).

Agree with what you're saying. As for the OP... if they don't dunno what they're talking about, they don't deserve your business. Take it elsewhere

Thanks a lot guys.

Just making sure, but I figured that they were probably just a bunch of idiots.

I will stick to getting the unlocking done in Toronto, where there are people I can trust.
