Recently, my Slider Remix began to have the reset bug. This typically happens when either first receiving a call or text or after I hang up a call. This only started happening recently within the past month. I have had the phone for several months now.

Regardless, the phone has often frozen at startup, especially after connecting to it via Bluetooth.

If I were to hazard a guess, it would be the size and format of MP3's that causes the phone to act so crazy. And sometimes, in order to read the file system, I have to remove the TransFlash media and reset the phone.

I've taken the liberty of making a questionnaire for those of you who may have been experiencing similar symptoms as I have. Maybe together we can figure out what symptoms cause the KX5/Slider Remix to act so buggy!

--What is your bug?:
[ ] Speaker Stopped Working[*] Phone Resets[*] Phone Freezes at Startup
(Although the speaker stopped working entirely on my first Slider Remix.)

--What is the firmware version of your phone?
RQ1.0.05

--Have you dropped the phone?:[*] YES [ ] NO
If YES, then how many times? How severe/far a drop?
Three or four times, no more than about 4 feet. Not enough to cause noticeable, physical harm/damage.

--Have you ever opened/taken apart your phone?:
[ ] YES[*] NO

--Do you have a TransFlash memory card?:[*] YES [ ] NO
If YES, is it larger than the recommended size of 512Mb?
No.

--Have you used the phone to playback music?:[*] YES [ ] NO

--Have you downloaded additional content to your phone? (i.e., games, ringtones, wallpapers, etc.):[*] YES [ ] NO

--Has your phone been connected to a computer with a data cable?:[*] YES [ ] NO

--Has your phone been connected to a computer via Bluetooth?:[*] YES [ ] NO

--Have you accessed your phone's file system using BitPim?:[*] YES [ ] NO
If YES, have you ever deleted files from your phone using BitPim?
Yes.

--Have you modified any of the settings or unlocked any hidden features on your phone using KPST?:[*] YES [ ] NO
If YES, then which settings?
Increased video recording time to 255 seconds. Also tried to get mobile WAP to work before it was available.

--Have you uploaded your own, custom ringtones to your phone?:[*] YES [ ] NO
If YES, what format?
MP3

--Have you uploaded images to your phone?:[*] YES [ ] NO

--Have you changed system files with other files?:[*] YES [ ] NO
If YES, then which files?
I changed one of the default incoming text alert sounds to my own sound.

If anybody can think of anything else to add to this list, then by all means, feel free to expand on it!

If I ever wind-up getting a new Remix, I want to avoid anything that caused it to malfunction before!

Mine will restart every once in the blue moon for no apperant reason.. But it doesnt do it alot, probably 4 times since i got the phone.. My speakers still work and although there are a few glitches Ive caught here and there, nothing major.. So I guess Im lucky.. I will fill out the questionaire though because frankly, i have nothing better to do rite now..haha

Yeah, probably around 5 times but nothing really major or that made the phone work differently

So far, it seems my hunch is right; I think it may have something to do with MP3 size and format and playing MP3's from the Transflash card.

We'll just have to wait and see if anyone else has similar problems.

Enter six 1's and then go to Options and then Service at the bottom of the menu.

The first option that appears is Version. Select that to see what software revision your phone has installed.

it has nothing to do with a transflash card, because my phone power cycles all the time and i don't have a card. i do have quite a bit of mp3 ringtones on there but my phone has been doing this since the 1st weekend i bought it. i just deal with it

the phone can reset/restart itself because of files corrupted.....

Ive been having problems with it locking up when trying to send a text message and sometimes dropping calls when I have 3 bars and am connected digitally to the network. Not even 4 months old yet. My phone will also reset when in Mobile Yahoo (the axcess program) it will black out several times when somone sends me a message (not all the time but like every few messages)
