6682 on its way out?

The Nokia 6682 has disappeared from Wirefly.com and Letstalk.com... are they back ordered or are they no longer shipping? Wirefly had it for free ($50 mail-in rebate) while Cingular sells it for $250. I'd much rather get it for free (or cheaper).

Amazon has the phone for a penny with a two year agreement. Can I extend my contract through them and get that special price?

Keep in mind you need to get a new phone # if you do the Amazon deal.

I guess I'll need to pay the full $250 then unless someone knows where I can get a discount price with a contract extension.

Ebay has quite a few, if you're willing to go that route. If you do that, your contract will stay as-is, so if/when you want to switch carriers you're free to do so. Or if Cingular gets in a new phone you really like, you can get it with the contract discount and sign a new contract then.

Just a thought....

I went to two corporate stores, had them on display, but weren't in stock and didn't expect any new shipments. So I placed an order through Cingular.com... I'm just happy I was able to get my hands on one before they were all gone.

If $ becomes available, I'm seriously considering buying one from Cingular to make sure I always have a reliable spare. Doubt that'll happen, but if it does....and Cingular still has some, then I'll do it.

OH! Mind if I ask how much they charged? And if you were signing a new contract or if it was the no-contract price??

It was $250 upgrade price, which I guess extends my contract for two years. Great part is, I got to keep my rate plan. 1100 minutes for $69.99/month.

$250 is the upgrade price??!!! Holy crap! I thought the no-contract price was $250....

I'm not saying it's not worth every single penny....just that it can be bought off of Ebay for that price without extending your contract.
