What data speed do you get with your 8125

I've had the Medianet Unlimited ($19.99) data plan for about 3 months now and I've never been impressed with the speed and have never formally done a speed test. Today I decided to use Dslreports to test the speed and the maximum speed that I get is 52k, on an Edge network. From what I read in the past others get over 100k on their phones. I decided to go to the Cingular store to check out that I had the correct SIM card and that everything was correct on my account.
Well, 3 people at the store all told me that I needed the pda plan to get the faster speeds. This is contrary to what I've read here so I'm wondering what speeds others on this same plan get, and what the reasons could be that I don't get the speeds that I've read about. Thanks.

With the proxy on 180-200 but with out it 100. Try the dns trick

Without or without proxy I am getting and average of 252k sometimes a little better and sometimes worse. Most of the time I am over 200k. I am in Arizona and am quite happy with the speed. Even tethered it seems very fast.

Ok, I just found the post with the "dns trick". It helped a little, but not much - now getting just over 60kbit/sec. Still not optimum. Anyone else in South Florida getting better speeds than this?

I used to average around 120, but in the last month speeds have plumeted to around 50.
I wish Cingular didn't screw things up all the time.

Using MediaNet with the proxy checked I get the fastest speeds...usually a little over 200k. When I use a connection via My Isp without proxy my speeds drop to around 100K.
