Please Read Carefully B4 responding!!!

OK... Here is my problem:

I want to enable the Network>Network Setup>Type:Manual option AND NOT GET the ^@ voicemail text messages AT THE SAME TIME.

(I'm not shouting - The capitalized sections above are for clarity only.)

I know that setting seem 0032 - offset 2 bit 1 to 0 will allow me to have the
desired Network>Network Setup>Type:Manual option, but it also results in those ^@ voicemail text messages, which cost $$$.

Additionally, setting seem 0032 - offset 2 bit 4 has no effect (as is implied in
XLR8's wonderful seem editing guide).

Setting seem 0032 - offset 2 bit 1 to 1 fixes those ^@ voicemail text messages, but kills the desired Network>Network Setup>Type:Manual option.

Has anyone found a way to do this (I know... I want to have my cake and eat it too!)

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated since this is the last mod I need to make my V635 perfect!

IIRC, those particular seem edits have been known since, oh, the Triplets (V300/400/600) days, so it's been like this for a few years.

If it were possible I would think that it'd be on xlr8's map by now

Note that xlr8's map also states that some of the features may be SIM dependant, so perhaps the only way to get this to do what you want is to get rid of your SIM. IE, get rid of Cingular.

Not going to happen. For years people have tried to make that happen and so far nobody has an answer. If they did, you would see a huge thread on it.

I was able to do what you want on both my L6 and now with my V3. I just did the SEEM edit to disable the stupid VM text messages and for whatever reason I still have manual network selection.

Still works on my L7 after doing the SEEM edit for the ^@ voicemail text messages.

i have the normal voicemail indicator the envelope with speaker and not the delta_@ and my manual network selection works. manual network selection is sim-dependant thouhg,
