Modding the K750i: Add 850Mhz band.

Hi, I have the Sony Ericsson K750i which is essentially unmodded. I've been wondering, is there any way to add the 850Mhz band to it? Many people have said no, but I'm a persistent guy.

Is it possible to use the W810i phone and add the K750i housing? I prefer the K750i greatly to the W810i in terms in asthetics and controls.

I'm pretty sure that the band issue is hardware, but there aren't any software mods that can get the 850mhz band to me? Switching firmware?

Are the antennas between the K750i/W810i interchangeable? Are there any hardware-modders that know a person who would take on such a task?

I doubt you can add 850mhz to the K750, not possible, and the K750 housing will not work W810.

the only parts of a k750 that will fit on a w810 is the middle chassis and backplate/battery cover

the front wont work since it has a different button layout and a joystick

What parts of the W810i work on the K750i? Or is the same both ways?

Spare parts are mostly available from this website http://www.cnn.cn -- It's where the majority get their mod plates from. Hope this helps.

How do u take out the back plate on w810i???

And is the battery cover from k750i and w810i interchangeable??

Cause i like the battery cover on w810i and wanna keep it, but would like to install a k750i backplate on my w810i

You cannot keep the battery plate of the 810 with the 750 back cover. The shapes are different and will not fit together.

There are tons of photos online showing this.

how does the backplate for the k750 on the w810 affect the speaker volume. in the picture it looks like the speaker would be covered by the lens cover. if it does affect the volume, how much quieter is it? i am debating getting this done to my phone so i want to get some opinions from those of u who have done this. also, on a scale of 1-10, how hard is it to change the backplate? thanks
