A newly puchased Bird S199 is having network problem, barely 2 weeks after puchased

Where are you? If you took it to the US, then it might be because it's only dual-band and doesn't support 1900MHz GSM. If you're in Europe, Asia, or Australia, then it would help to describe your network problem.

Thanks yangj08, i am Nigeria; Africa. frm all indications d fault is Hardware, cos d network bars come up when i started work on it , then later disappeared

Well, in theory, it should work fine in Nigeria... If you have tested the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, then I am pretty sure you have a faulty phone.

I know that im having a faulty phone, if not i wont waste my time making this posting, all i need is d solution to d problem, basic.

The only solution is to take it to China for repair. As far as I know Bird is a Chinese brand (certainly not known for any sort of quality) and their warranty only covers China.

yangj08 this forum is not meant for joker, or did u think this is another Jacky Chan's movie,How can i leave Nigeria to China to repair a phone, who told u , there is no capable Engineer in Nigeria, make u mind urself, if not i go Harmmer u.

Well I should know- I'm Chinese, living in China, and I once tried one of those phones (before I came to this forum). Now, as far as I know China is the only place to buy these phones, and I meant "fix it" as in taking it to an official repair center. Now, if you bought the phone in Nigeria, maybe there are capable people in Nigeria who can fix it. I'm Chinese- I had experience with Bird phones and I once asked one of their employees about the phone while I was considering it (before I came to this forum). He said that this phone was unique to them and that most likely it has to be brought back to be repaired if it's broken. Now, if you don't want to believe the people who make these phones, then go ahead. Just realize that if you get it fixed in Nigeria and it turns out to be a screwup that it has to be taken back to China to be properly fixed. I'm certainly not joking- I mean I asked around about that phone before I came here.
