Virus on sim card

Alright, this may be stupid, but after experimenting, I am very convinced that I have a virus on my sim card. I've been with T-Mobile for about 6 years now and I have no complaints on their service until recently. When I make calls, or receive calls, the reception would be horrible, the sound would be scrambled. However, when I make a call with my sister's V3, its crystal clear, than when I put my sim card into her phone, it was clear, so than I thought it was my sim card, and so I switched to a new one.
To keep all my contact, I copied all my numbers from the old sim to the nokia 3565 and save to phone than copied it to the new sim, than next thing you know few hours later, here comes the scratchy noise when I make a call. Now my sister's phone is scratchy too, but not my brother's cause I did not touch his. My cousin's phone that I switched sims on is also doing this...so my conclusion is...
I received the virus while surfing through various wap sites that I found on wap.google.com to find new ringtones for my phone, and some of those sites I should not have even gone to, I was just bored i guess. So I guess my question is, is this possible? to get a virus on the sim? and have it stay in the phone some how and infect it? again, this sounds ridiculous, but I am almost convinced...anyone have this problem?

If you suspect that the SIM is faulty or even infected with a virus, then by all means get a new one at a T-Mobile store. You can also post your story in the T-Mobile USA forum here:

Does your phone have a hard-reset feature to restore to factory specs? If so, then you could test further by hard-reseting the device, then trying yet another untouched SIM card in there. If the phone noise persists, then it could be something other than a virus.

Even so, I find it strange that he reports trouble after placing his SIM in the other handsets. It didn't happen in just 1 phone but in 3 phones. That's a bit strange.

yes, it is very strange...but i'm going to just open another line so I can get a good deal on a samsung d600. And my sister in law's phone is still having trouble, but she is now getting a new phone from TMO...so lesson here...do NOT search random wap sites as I did

Good Luck, perhaps you can salvage the contacts from your old SIM somehow.

I just activated a couple of new lines, and everything is working perfectly now, great signal, great quality...and got me a samsung d520, so i'm pretty satisfied now.

Did you also port your existing line from the problematic SIM to a new one?

I have the same problem.
Started with my girlfriend's sister phone - a nokia 6120c. After receiving a blank mms message, her phone experience scratchy/choppy connection. She transferred her sim to her sister phone and damaged it also. I transferred my girlfriends sim to my Nokia 6070 and it damage too.
So far people from Smart Communications are unfamilliar with the problem as well as some techs that i have talked too? duh
