Flashing the RazrV3C question on Virtual PC

Alright everyone, I currently am trying to access the feautres that are usually hidden on my RAZR V3c through Virtual PC(Windows XP). For some reason whenever i connect my RAZR through my USB(psp) cable it never is recognized by my PC. I have Motorola Phone Tools and when i tried to connect it through that it never came up. I was wondering if anyone has had this same problem! When i go to my USB settings it says that the MOTOROLA V3C is inputted on a USB port, but whenever i try to activate that on my Virtual PC it does not take any action to it. CAn anyone help me?

I didn't think Virtual PC supported USB ports correctly?

I know that in the past.. many have tried, unsuccessfully, using Virtual PC on a Mac to get PST working so they could flash/seem edit and it didn't work...

And I know trying to get MS Activesync and my iPAQ setup in a Virtual PC, it wouldn't work.. as the VPC would not show my iPAQ... (Host and guest OS were XP pro)...

ah alrightttt, and there are no other ways to transfer music on the Mac right... I mean i read a tutorial on ASk Dave Taylor on changing something in the I SYNC resources and it would then allow you to browse your phone and add music/photos/ringtones/etc...

that was written when the phone first came out and Verizon "forgot" to disable the Bluetooth OBEX File Transfer profile on the phone... (Firmware version GATW_X_01.0F.02P)...

I've you purchased your phone and it came with the GATW_X_01.0F.03P or GATW_X_01.0F.04P firmware, or a Verizon STORE upgraded your phone to GATW_X_01.0F.04P, then you can't do bluetooth OBEX File Transfers, as Verizon fixed their mistake and removed the profile from those two firmwares...

To get it back... you can flash at home to the LEAKED GATW_X_01.0F.04P version of the Verizon firmware (available at http://www.humpa.com/vzw or http://ryfiles.com/flash )... BUT you need a Windows 2k or XP PC to flash...

You can't use Virtual PC to flash or seem edit. (hence the interest of Mac users in in Moto4lin, which doesn't work on CDMA phones yet btw...)

i'm a mac user too.

i just borrowed a pc to flash and that was it, no more pc needed.

then it was back to mac for bluetooth transfers of music,pictures,and videos.

find a nice friend with a pc

See if you can borrow a Windows PC... flash to the LEAKED GATW_X_01.0F.04P

Or borrow a windows PC and seem edit (Seem 2742, offset 6A, bit 0... "check the box" or set the value =1 or enable it, however you want to say it..)... and use BitPim...

hi guys just a quick question i'm not familar with the cdma razr but i have a v3c from telus i was lookin to get a new firmware for it and i notice all the firmware out there have verizon or alltel attached to it was wonder is this just a firmware reflash if i flash it to the telus phone will my phone still ork with telus or will it switch to verizon or alltel

I would NOT flash your Telus phone to Verizon or Alltel's firmware...

1. Data services will be configured for the carrier who's flash it is (i.e. verizon or alltel), so you'd have to fix that to make it work.
2. Verizon's flash has the Verizon User Interface which most agree is not as nice as the standard Moto UI, and has many limits. It also removes some bluetooth profiles. (like Object Push)
3. Verizon and Alltel use BREW, Telus uses Java... so flash with VZW/Alltel firmware.. and no FREE GAMES for you anymore.
4. The "leaked" CDMA flash files out there are just that... FLASH FILES, no flex, so NEEDED parts of the phone's file system could be missing, and your phone wont work!!!
5. Since there is no way to backup a CDMA phone's flash/flex into a file that can be used to successfully flash a phone... if flashing one of these other phones doesn't work.. there is NO WAY to recover...

more?? yeah, but those are only the reasons I can think of off the top of my head...
