This is an email I sent to a friend who is getting an 8125. It is in no means definitive. I just figured that if I typed all that, I thould share it with more than one person.

First off you are going to want to get activesync going on your computer. If it is working right you are going to do a software upgrade. Go here for that upgrade http://america.htc.com/support/cing..._downloads.html.

http://america.htc.com/ is the website for HTC the company that makes this phone. Nice to know but other than the software upgrade not a lot here. Make sure you follow the directions on the software upgrade so that you do not damage the phone.(You want to do this first because it will clear anything else off the phone, also make sure that you are actually upgrading Directions are on the site. Your phone may already have the new version of software on it.

Something else you should know. If the program you are installing ends in .cab, you can install it from your phone. If it ends in .exe, it has to be done from a pc. Save all programs to your disk, and when it prompts, install to disk. You will fill up your memory quickly if you save it to device. This will make you lose performance.

Go to www.surrealnetworks.com/mpx. You can use anything under Applications for MDA and Registry Edits for MDA. Go to registry edits first. definitely get app unlock, pocket ie storage. The rest you can decide on. Go to applications for MDA and definitely download magic button, omap clock v.2, phm registry editor, the rest you can decide on, but you probably will not need total commander.

Go to www. paulya.com/Project and install ETEN dialer install.cab (This is a must) You can then pick a skin from this same page if you want. There are other programs on this page you might can check out.

Other websites with free downloads are as follows:
www.freewareppc.com
www.freecabs.de
mobile.pdagold.com/soft

Now here are some programs that I recommend (The ones above are absolutely necessary). You will have to search these pages because I can't remember where I downloaded what, but I believe there are search bars on all of these pages.

claunch (this is great)
airscanner antivirus (for the paranoia)
d25today (improves today screen)
virtual earth (map program)
IIwpo (in case you lose your phone)

There other great programs that you can pay for but I am cheap.
Also, don't forget www.pocketpcthemes.com for free themes.

These sites are full of people who can help you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/front_page.php
http://www.htcwizardweb.net/

And finally this is the hofo page where I got most of my info. It is a lot to read, and there is a low of useless banter in it, but there is a lot of info in it, such as registry tweaks and other programs
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=843374.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I changed one of the network settings to that and added the settings. It loads quicker and I can stream music faster with no buffering at 128k. Kudes Dudes
