Hi everyone. Im from Singapore and I just purchased a GD88. I simply love it!
But the problem is, I cant seem to transfer files (midi, jpeg) from my PC to the phone via infrared. But I could send pictures to the PC instead.

Do I need a software to actually syncronize so that I could send data from PC to phone?

Everytime I turn on the infrared on the phone(via recieve file option) my PC turns on the infrared and acknowledges it. But when I click on a midi or picture to send, it just doesnt work! Worst of all my PC hung on me...

Can any experts here please help me coz I really need to send my favourite tones to my phone. Thx for reading.

One lastt thing, how do I set the baud rate or speed of the infrared on my PC? Im using Windows ME.

Unfortunately I have not transferred any pictures from the PC so I have no answer
Just to check with u have you try to send MMS with pictures files downloaded from wap and messages saying "Security File cannot insert"

Sorry but I have not tried using MMS on my GD88 yet so I cant really help you. Maybe you could call up the operator and refer the problem to them?

to send pics via ir, i go into data folder >> highlight the file >> menu >> send irda >> works with no problems... that is, don't connect with the pc via receive file (that's for receiving)

I know that I can send data from my phone to the PC, and it works but I CAN'T send data FROM my PC to the phone.

Can anyone help?

oh... pc to phone?
i'm using the mobile action ma-620 usb irda dongle and windows xp
applications >> infrared >> data receive >> then line it up with the irda dongle >> xp will recognize the phone as a nearby computer, then i transfer the files over

have you tried lowering the ir speed?

Umm, how do you lower the speed of the Infrared? Sorry if I asked a lame question.

I tried and i can only send 1 pic at a time!
It wont keep a constant connection.

That's how it supposed to be: 1 pics at a time with IR. HOWEVER, with the PC Software, I think you can do multiple. I have a created a thread on this.
