I am having incredible problems connecting on GPRS this AM from Springfield, MO. Anyone else having data problems (active sync, weather updates...)

YES! I am too. Seems that everyone in the company with an 8125 is down, and it is annoying!

It's a DNS problem. Follow the directions in this thread: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=989354

Just spoke to Cingular. It is a GoodLink/Cingular problem nationwide. They are working on fixing it.

Sounds fishy. Non Goodlink customers are out too. No web browsing. Once I added static DNS, bam! No problems now.

Posted by: LIQUIX

Oh really? I added a static DNS and internet stops working.
Strange stuff going on...

in the media net or the isp profile? I added it to the ISP profile so maybe the proxy is down too for the Media Net profile.

I hope they fix it soon... Corporate accounts get cranky.

We dont use MediaNet since we have unlimited GoodLink packages on all the phones. So I put into the ISP profile.

Miami, Florida here. Outage today too.

Big problems in the NOLA area as well. I had static DNS servers set (opendns.com), and removed them in an attempt to resolve the problem. I'll try going back to static.

Seems like we are back up. The VP's were not happy today...

I think it might have affects on MediaNet too, neither me or my friend could get ringtones sent to our phone. She said she called CS and they were aware and said it would be fixed shortly. I remain skeptical about the shortly part.

I am in Southern California and can't get online or pick up my emails.

It appears to be back up in southeast Louisiana.

I've been having brief periods of outage all morning. It's working at the moment.
San Jose, CA

I had been using wap.cingular for the last week instead of isp.cingular because last week they had an outage on isp.cingular! Today when I noticed wap.cingular wasn't working, I switched back to isp.cingular and I was up in 30 seconds.

Gotta love having redundancy like that.

No problems all day in Detroit with Goodlink / Medianet. However, I receive emails automatically when Goodlink / Cingular GPRS has problems and was receiving them all day.

I received an email at 4:48PM saying that their (not sure who's but assuming Cinguar) issue had been resolved.

FYI:
- Down all day in San Juan PR (at least until 2pm, when I left there).
- Up in North Jersey from at least 6pm (when I arrived) until about 9pm, down since then.

Still having all kinds of DNS problems even with setting static dns...

Posted by: RF9

I've been having all kinds of issues today. I haven't checked in the last 2 hours but just don't be surprised.

Posted by: HBKDinobot

Still out in Los Angeles... I can't even get my e-mail.

Posted by: bootyologist24

finally back up a few hours ago. had the problems about 1:00 am here in cali, until about 5:00 pm.

Posted by: cjmedina

i have a problem using the open dns server it just says locating........... but if i put it back to standard dns it works fine , cant be perfect

Posted by: CowboyNYC

So far today more Cingular GPRS problems... Works sometimes, other times it doesn't What the hell is going on?

Posted by: duman95

Same here in central PA. Seems to have been happening here on and off for about a week. I too had the opendns.com DNS ips in. I think that its not opendns but more a network issue as you have to get to opendns to resolve so getting stuck on locating could mean a network issue....

I just toss it up to work going on behind the scenes for broader 3G rollout...
