No they can't be changed on the 903; they've become changeable on the 550SH and 770SH though.

the OS sucks tats all... i just use it as a phone and camera

wow, why would you want to change those shortcuts anyways. they are the most common uses for them anyways. the sharp ppl are not stupid; they just designt it based upon how people use their phones.

the OS in sharp and se phones is greeeat! It does everything.

I hate many bits about the UI.

Media player isn't awesome, but tolerable.. You can't access MP3 only sound files in the media player.. Hm.. when viewing pictures, it's not automatically fullscreened and you cannot scroll through them, gotta unpick and pick another one to view..

Oh and viewing horizontally taken pictures are small -__-, why couldn't they just display it sideways, so we can actually make use of the screen?

Try * for previous and # for the next picture, works at least in the 903SH and 904SH .

I've wondered this, too... But if you want it "fullscreened", you'll have to press the left "menu" selection button and select "full screen", otherwise you'll have to push the middle "select" and zoom that way.

The horizontal issue leads to the fact that the phone doesn't write/read the needed Exif data in order to "autoturn" the pictures with the right kind of data. Or the browser could at least turn the pictures that have more width than length (but, you know, many viewers do not turn the picture so I think it is better as it is now, although it's a pain in the butt that you can't rotate in the 903SH - don't remember about 904SH).

tks for all your great advice.. but the bottem line.. 903 phone rocks.. UI sucks.. but its by far the coolest phone in Chicago ...

I'm pretty sure 904SH allows you to scroll pictures while they're displayed in full screen. A lot of good changes were made to the UI in the transition to 904SH from 903SH...

The UI isn't really that bad... u should have seen the 801SH's firmware..... oooo. boy.. that was fun...

Yeah the PDC user interface really is all over the place. It's got some nice features, but organisation borders on hopeless. It's based on an office-phone style function system. Go figure

hahahaha... did you design that al?!! shame on u
