Nokia 6600: Hard Reset??

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

OK, i haven't done one of these in ages and I don't think the instructions on the web are correct.

I need to perform a hard reset (format) on my Nokia 6600. I hold down the "3", "*" and "Green/Talk" button while powering on the phone. I should see the "Formatting" screen appear afterwards but it doesn't.

Am i doing something incorrectly here? I did it two years ago and remember how awkward it was to hold down all those buttons!

just try *#7370# instead

^ the soft reset would normally work but i don't know the security code anymore. hence, the hard reset... thx though!

u mean u changed the security code? thats the hard reset as well. *#7780# is the soft reset~

Security code was changed. The Soft reset prompts you for the security code.

The Hard reset does not prompt you and simply formats the phone from a power cycle.

you should never change the code

Helpfull replies appreciated.

u should flash it, since the 3, on button hard reset will not work, those are your only options really..

Well to correct you, the call, *, 3, on reboot DOES work.. BUT it doesn't reset the lock code.

BUT this link DOES work, as I just used it on my 6620 so I can sell it.

http://nfader.z-host.ru/

Input you IMEI, then use the code it gives you when it asks for the code you no longer remember, then set code to 12345. the phone is now yours again.

I just tried that on my E50 and it didn't work. I bought the phone used so I'm not sure what the lock code is.

Is the lock code needed for anything besides to reset phone memory?

password change i believe needs the code as well~
