That phone is for KDDI, not Softbank.

Nice in the design department but specs wise it's not that different from the 905SH really. Nothing special particularly compared to the other 11(!) phones announced by KDDI...

I must say that I am liking the Sony Ericsson the most out of the bunch, the 2.7" screen is a clincher for me.

the screen is beautiful ;_;

Actually yes, it is nothing special, Sharp themselves said that before making a high-end unit for Au (this is their first) they wanted to make a base standard unit. Thus this mid-range model. Got nothin on the 902iS or 904SH. What I eagerly await info is the upcoming 903i and 903iTV!

Looks a lot like the 705 but with a bigger and coloured external display...

Functionality is a non issue to me, can not use it so it means nothing.
I enjoy these Japanese phones simply because of the design.

For me, functionality is an issue, because I can use it.

I agree... Design, form and aesthetics are one thing but functionality is really important....

Ah well. KDDI gearing up for MNP to come into Japan, I guess they wanted to make the point that KDDI is where you want to be because the range of handsets is just that big.

Although I think it's a huge waste of development money. The phones are so similar to each other it's minor features and design that are the only differentiators between them all...

Hah, well, in the end I'm a DoCoMo user, in my third year, so it would be kind of stupid for me to abandon my discounts to switch carriers. Au honestly doesn't have attractive phones in my opinion, even if Sharp has started to make them. I've played around with a friends, but Au's models have a certain feel of cheapness to them so. Like I said, I'm eagerly awaiting news of the 903i and 903iTV.

don't you like those new AU Se phones tho cloud? i thought they are pretty spiffy.
