I just got my GD87,all my contacts are in the SIM.
Is there a function for me to copy all the contacts to the phone?
Sorry i cant read the manual coz its not in English.I got a Vodaphone version.

Reason i wanna do this is coz i read in another post is that only certain functions can be done when the phone numbers are stored in the phone memory.

Yep no problem.

Select a contact choose edit from the menu, make any changes you want (not necessary). Then choose save, you'll then get the option to save to either sim or phone.

Only shortcoming compared to Nokia is that you can only copy one at a time.

Whats actually the benefit of storing the numbers to your phone?

Several benefits:

1) place photo next to the name
2) store more than one type pf number...eg home, mobile, fax
3) store email addresses for quick email/mms sending
4) Insert profiles/ groups for diff calling colours/ringtones etc.

If you store the name on the SIM however you can not manipulate the data...you only have a name and one phone number.
