Disabling GRPS and EDGE?

I have the 8125 and I was just wondering if there is any way to disable me from going anywhere near GRPS or EDGE? I don't have any data plan at all and if I accidentally sign onto GRPS I'm screwwed. I only plan on using it with Wi-Fi at my home. Thanks!

Delete the MediaNet and MMS entries under Connections? Or better yet, delete the usernames and passwords for these settings?

You can call Cingular and ask them to block data

Awesome, thanks for telling me about Cingular being able to disable data transfer to my phone, they will only disable GRPS and EDGE, right? I will still be able to send and recieve SMS from mobile to mobile right?

They can leave those or disable them as well.

Just what I needed to know. Thanks

Make sure you ask them to allow you to SMS, first time I did it they disabled everything related to data. I had to call back in a enable my SMS.

Good to know that you can have a data block on Cingular. I am currently with VZW and have every intension of changing over. I am used to PDAs but don't want the data.
