Today the P990i is $787.00!!!
Not yet at the price I want, but it's getting there!

Post an update if you notice more movement.
This is more fun than watching the stock market!

check out the post i just made.... the 990 dropping 7 dollars per day on plemix is awesome and i agree its fun to watch.. but i just WISH that the other online retailers would compete.. it could create a pricing war and the prices might drop quicker and more aggresively...

Yes, on eBay.

I didn't follow the P910, so I wouldn't be of help on that one.

I think it will stop or stagnate atleast around $700. I hope I'm wrong but I'm figuring it will hover around there forawhile before going down to the $600's.

It's $739 today on Plemix.

I stopped in to buy one in Dubai today and was SHOCKED at what happened.

1) The pre-order price of $760 was over.
2) They have none in stock anywhere.
3) They have raised the retail price to $890!!

The saleswoman was filled with such glee to tell me that the price went up, and that I can't have one anyhow!

My K750i will do me fine until either: the price drops, or I travel to a country that sells for non-stupid prices.

There was a time when Dubai got everything first, and it was cheaper.
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!??!?!

honestly, and i dont claim to be any type of cellphone market analyst, with the functions of this phone, the ebay prices, the other online retail prices, the current price of the p910, etc etc, i cant imagine MUCH cheaper the 739, even if it drops to 699, doubtfully, thats only a 40 dollar difference....

yea, i saw that. and those guys are local for me. i emailed them and asked them if there was any deal on local pick up, or if they could at least hook it up since they didnt have to pay for shipping. but no deal.
they DID give me their address for local pick up, so im assuming its totally legit.

Ok, today everyone has them in stock again, but not one single store has a demo unit. For other phones they usually have one charged that you can put your sim card in, but this one - they won't let you do it. What the hell?

I won't buy if I can't try... I also want to look inside to see what battery they come with. Annoying!!

you wish you bought it a presale prices?! are you being seroius? all the presale pricces i saw were like 900 or 1200 dollars? the plemix countdown is still fun to watch, but i found a local place that has it for 710. and i wouldnt have to pay shipping. so im now over plemix.

here is what im thinking... 1. how will we know when they fix the battery problem. 2 when will we know if we are buying one that has been sitting around and still has the old battery even though SE has fixed the battery problem

haha. we dont have malls anywhere near me that carry the phone. i think there is one like an hour away that has high end cell phones, but if plemix has it for 709, they would have it for 999.

There's always a new one under wraps... and the next one will probably also take a whole year to materialize, so don't even think about waiting for that one.

Plemix is based in the US in Bellevue, WA. Although their product is generally shipped from Hong Kong or some other part of Asia.

If my memory serves me correctly, the M600i started off at around $750 USD. That was over 3 months ago however.

Going by that trend, perhaps the $600 USD I was hoping for was a bit too much. Going by the M600's trend - we are looking at maybe another $40-$50 USD off over the next few weeks and then a plateau ?

I believe the P Series phones have always been rather expensive. The P910 was still hovering about $450 USD earlier this year.

If I can get the P990 @ ~$750 CAD including tax, I'll be a happy, happy, man-boy.

well its $649 now on plemix, I was keeping an eye on the prices and it seems to be dropping every week, I don't know if I should take the plunge and get one now or wait until it plateaus...

I dropped my p900 again and its really starting to fall apart

How low can it go ?

When you convert plemix's current price in USD to CAD, it comes to $729 CAD.

I hope some of the GTA retailers are taking notice - since there are about 7-8 that advertise on HoFo. The cheapest I've found so far is $889 CAD.

I check the map for their location.
Don't remember any cellular store on the listed address.
Just got me thinkin if they even have them in stock.
But you guys sure could give it a try.
They appear to be the cheap around in Canada.

i think 650 is VERY fair for this phone IF it had all the bugs worked out and the right battery. i still might take the plunge at 650, maybe even tomorrow. MAYBE. depending on what apple releases at tomorrows press confrennce. if the new video ipod drops tomorrow, im gonna go for that instead.

they are located near kingsway and joyce ~ i dunno if rick have stock though ~ but he gets shipments every monday and friday i think. i dealt with him a few times ~ his price is one of the best in canada ~ though hard to get a hold of him sometimes

sigh ~ i just checked with rick today ~ he said he's not gonna sell the p990 anymore ~ coz the price drops too fast. he pays for it @ certain price ~ couple days later it drops below that price already ~

plemix shipping is 40bux us ~ x1387 is 30bux. plemix is like 5bux cheaper in the phone's price but 10bux more on shipping lol so x1387 is cheaper by 5bux?

How do you know Plemix stopped the clock at $650USD ? I know realistically that this phone probably shouldn't get any lower in price but I'm curious as to how you know ?

Plemix doesn't drop the price every day, so if it's been at $650 USD for a few days, that in itself doesn't indicate that the price has plateaued.

X1837 vs Plemix

Since the phone isn't available in North America - I'm assuming it would be better to go with Plemix and the 5 extra dollars because you should get an invoice, which should make it easier to get it serviced (if need be?) Can anyone confirm this ?

Second - I wonder if any Canadians have ordered from Plemix - do you get charged Canadian Taxes/Brokerage Fees ?

yup you have to pay canadian brokeage as long as the phone is not shipped from canada -_- i hated that, and from what i know ~ you don't get warranty with the phone anyways so i rather not an invoice ~ x1387 usually declares at lower price so it's not as expensive when it comes to custom tax ~

The lowest I have seen from a GTA retailer is $836. I'm going to wait and see if their price drops yet again and buy it locally and avoid the taxes/brokerage fees.

i bought the phone from plemix and the tax came to $60. It was just GST/PST, so 13%, no Brokerage and this was with UPS Express 1 day

P990 are made in two different countries, France and China. I think units from Plemix is made in China since they are shipping from Hong Kong. Can anyone confirm that? I hope there is not a difference in build quality

mine has no mention of anything with word France or China. But it does say 06w33, i assume its was make on week 33 in 06. I would sleep tighter tonight knowing that my expensive phone is not make in underpaid factories in china.
