anyone know whats the difference between regular sandisk minisd and sandisk ultra II minisd? is it worth buying the ultra II which is 10-20 dollars more than the normal one.

It's just the speed difference. One writes faster than the other that's all...

does it make a difference on the my 903? or is it just the writing speed on the computer

As far as I know it's just the computer speed. 903 can't take advantage of the Ultra II's extra speed capability.

That's what I think as well. I think it only makes a difference when you use a card reader. Otherwise it should be about the same speed while running it on the phone itself.

i absolutely agree with al. its liek that. the phone can't go any faster when writing or reading.. os might as well stick with the regular one.

As far as i know...right now the working minisds are sandisk, and toshiba right?? and OEM is a big no no . i dont know if kingston works or not kus some people said yes and some no
has anyone tested other suchs as Transcend, PQI, A-Data? sandisk tend to over price themselves because they are the leading brand. =/

I would think that all mini sd's would work as long as the phone supports the capacity. Most flash memory is made by the same company such as samsung... like the chip itself and it's just branded by a diff company.

I had an a-data on the 903 and now 904 and it works perfectly. Only problem I ever had with a memory card was a 1 gb sandisk that I bought off ebay whose part number was for a 32 mb card but held 1 gb strangely.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but since it's already here, thought I'd ask the question here: Can I use a 1GB card on the 703SHf? I was reading the limit's 512, but I thought I remember reading somewhere it does take up to 1GB.

And can anyone tell me the average price of a 1GB miniSD? The lowest I've seen is $28 for a SanDisk one. Can it be found for lower, or is that as low as it goes?

im pretty sure that having faster memory may provide better battery life. the phone, when writing, always writes at a certain speed; but if the memory allows for faster writing, then the time it takes to write that data will be shorter and the phone will have used less power.

this comes back to what AL said though. if the 903 is writing slow in the first place, then having the faster memory won't help you. But in the case where your 903 is a phone first and a camera like 4th... who cares about a second or two shaved off when you have a digital camera in your bag as well.

that being said.. as al and kevo have said... speed don't matta so dont' be a card hata. cheesy as that is.

speed doesn't matter for cellphones when it comes with memory cards
